22Mar21  When I opened  this package, it was after I partially thawed it because I fully expected the quesadillas to be stuck together as has been the case so many times in the past.  But!  See that piece of 'baking' paper between them?  I SUGGESTED that to Aldi and they actually listened to me.  Or maybe a few people suggested similar, but it's nice to be 'heard' and even nicer not to have two frozen quesadillas stuck together.  Thanks, @AldiAustralia !  #2021pad #muchlatergram #cooking #aldiaustralia #quesadillas
23Feb21 Beef stir fry with ramen. I tossed some frozen cut up green and red bell peppers (capsicum) in along with some soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. It came out lovely. The beef strips were from @gdaymeat and I chopped them into bite size pieces. These were very tender. I'm thinking I'll order more next time. #2021pad #gdaymeat #ichoosesa #cooking #foodies #cookingforone
17Feb21 Sometimes what we eat can look a bit weird and still be okay. I really wanted to enjoy the last Everything Bagel I had, but needed some meat and veg to go with it. My solution was two Chicken & Herb sausages and some brussel sprouts. I use these red bowls to microwave veggies and often leave the veggies in the warm bowl rather than putting them on my plate. #2021pad #cooking #cookingforone #everythingbagel #bagel #chickenandherbsausages #brusselsprouts
22Feb21 I really wanted American 'Biscuits with Gravy' so I found a recipe for a drop biscuit that worked rather well. The instructions called for using a metal ice cream scoop that has the 'ring' that helps get it out of the scoop. I happened to have one, and it worked brilliantly. This was much easier than rolled out scones, took less time and most importantly, tasted right. This was a 'test' one I allowed myself to have with just butter on it. Yum! #cooking #baking #biscuits #scones #dropbiscuits
13Feb21 This may look gruesome, but it's the beginning of some very tasty turkey soup. Aside from depth of flavour and speed, the other advantage with the Instant Pot in this case was the ability to use a well fitting strainer for all of the solid material. I set the pressure cooker and was able to walk away for about an hour while it did it's job and then had a slow release of the pressure over about 15 minutes. I was able to lift the strainer and put it over another pan to collect the liquid still in the strainer. I let the strainer sit for a few hours then put it in the fridge and retrieved all the meat and vegetables that could be used in soup the next day. I made a few liters of soup and then saved the rest of the stock for use in other recipes or more soup. It came to about 6 liters of plain stock by time I finished. #2021pad #cooking #cookingforone #turkey #turkeystock #turkeysoup #instantpot
26Feb21 I made these! These are LOW CARB chips (French fries) made with Kestrel potatoes. This bowl full was just ONE potato. And they were really good. Instead of spraying the chips with oil, I used the “shake and bake” method. Except I used the air fryer. I put the chips into a bag, put a tablespoon of oil in the bag then shook the bag to mix the oil onto the chips. Then tossed in chicken salt and gave it another shake. THEN into the air fryer on the highest temperature and checked after 10 minutes and I think it took twenty minutes all together. I’ll be making these again. #cooking #cookingforone #airfrying #airfryer
