Howdy

Howdy Y’all.  Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile. I’ve been struggling with the arthritis and bursitis stuff and doing my best to keep up with other stuff.  Not much to report on the physical complaints aside from having my wicker rocking chair repaired was one of the best things I’ve done for myself – this chair really is the most comfortable for me, and when you combine it with a nice warm gel-pack for my back, it’s absolutely wonderful. So I spend a lot of time on the patio using my laptop instead of inside at my main computer because my rocker doesn’t fit my desk. Otherwise I sure would use it inside.

I’ve written a few blogs on Diabetes Daily if you’re interested. It’s a nice site and there’s certainly a lot of readers there – one of my little blog entries has had over a 100 visits. It’s nice to ‘be read’!  I was also asked to do a Guest Blog for a friend that will be published later this week. I was honoured to this, and will tell you all about it after she announces it.

Here’s a list of my Diabetes Daily blog entries:

Enjoying the Challenge
And Another Thing
Playing Footsie

None of these are earth shattering or anything, but I felt comfortable to write a few things so I did.

Be sure to also read my entry here on Sodium that I’ll be posting today as well.

18Jan22 Noble, using portrait mode. It seems to really show off his soft side. #catsofinstagram #tripodkitty #threeleggedcatsofinstagram #2022pad #latergram
15Sep22 I bought a rotisserie chicken for a quick dinner and then a day or so later made some very nice chicken soup with the carcass and breast meat leftover. I cooked the noodles separately in some of the broth I took from the soup and then just put them in my bowl. There was a lot of chicken on that little bird! I still have the other breast, all shredded and ready for a couple meals in the future. Not bad - 5 meals out of a $10 hot chicken! #2022pad #cooking #cookingforone #chickensoup #rotisseriechicken #yum
17Feb22 I had a nap and these two decided to have their naps with me. Those who've seen my other cats on my bed photos might notice ... today they decided to swap sides! The book I'm reading is "Your Head is a Houseboat" by Campbell Walker. It's a great book and I love the illustrations (also by Campbell Walker) @struthless69 #2022pad #catsofinstagram #tripodkitty #threeleggedcatsofinstagram
11Sep22 I take a photo of these whenever I do a test because with catarachts I don't trust my eyes. It's easier to see for sure if there's a bottom line from the camera. Then I let them hang around so I know the date I last checked. Anyone else do that? This is called a RAT test in Australia. #2022pad #covidnegative #justchecking #covidrattest #rat
18Jan22 My shutters in the 'Ready Room' (the front bedroom) had quit working with a loud "thunk" sound on the weekend so I made a couple calls and was put onto this company. Ray and his workmate came and were able to work out that the last time the shutter had been repaired (I have no memory of it ever needing it while I've been here), they used curved bars instead of straight ones and that eventually caused the whole thing not to work. They had some straight ones they could replace it with that weren't a stock item, and not quite a match, but the repair worked beautifully and then they checked the shutters for the gym window and found the timing was off by a few ticks so quickly fixed that as well. The fee they charged me was minimal. So I have no problems sharing their business card. I felt they were absolutely looking out for me rather than lining their pockets. Good guys! #fair #tradies #shutterrepairs #latergram
A little 44 seconds of the beach. Enjoy.
