Today had a couple of highlights. For the second day in a row I woke up after having a real full night’s sleep – each night I only woke up once in the middle of the night and it was lovely to wake up feeling refreshed. A girl could get used to that!!Â
My sister in law in Michigan had a preventative bilateral mastectomy yesterday – meaning both sides were removed. We have had many ups and downs over the years but have really bonded since the loss of my husband and this, her decision to deal with such a scary issue that runs in her family. I had breast cancer 18yrs ago so she’s been asking me a lot of questions and I’ve answered as best as I can. She sent Email this morning about how her night had been so I had my first cup of coffee answering her mail.Â
The rest of my day was filled with work and time in the gym, and it just seemed like everything flowed so well because of the actual restful sleep I’d had last night. I like that even on days when I don’t go anywhere, I’m still having busy, satisfying days. I still have moments of thinking about, and missing my husband, but I talk to him pretty much all day, which makes me feel we’re still connected, he’s right here in my heart with me. I sure do miss him though.Â

I also worked on changing a contact form for a customer that was getting a lot of spam from the form. Fingers crossed it does the job.Â
But the real fun was getting in 40 minutes of strength and balance training. Today made for 7 days of being active – not all of them in the gym though. It’s amazing how much of a cardio workout you can get on ‘bin day’ when you run around the house emptying trash bins and taking the lot out the kerb/curb!!Â
Tomorrow I hope to be able to have a walk by the sea again since it’s Sunday. I was having a problem with my toe on the left side last week. This week it’s on the right side. Ugh! I have osteoarthritis and my toes are becoming mangled. It’s like I’m stepping on one because they overlap each other. Anyway, tomorrow might be better in that regard and I may just go anyway because the ocean breeze and waves are good for the soul.Â
How was your day?Â
Cheers!Â
