Oh happy day, I figured out how to use Views/Arguments in Drupal. This will be a great asset as it opens up heaps of possibilities. Mainly I needed it for a website I'm working on where files of different groups are to be displayed and I wanted to get this going so instead of having half a dozen 'views', one for each group, I can just add the group to the URL and the view displays just for that particular group. I can't tell you how happy I was to have the penny drop finally. I just needed to find one example/how-to that showed how the URL was formatted and once I found that, I was set.
Now, I need to sort out how to make it so only the people who have the Role that matches the Group can view their particular page. Again, I'm sure that once I find a few examples in how to code this I'll be on my way with it.
I pretty much worked at this all day, and had lunch at my desk so it was a pretty uneventful day otherwise, but that discovery really made the day.
For tea, I pulled out some turkey wings (just the large 'leg' ends) and thought I'd have them with Portuguese marinade, but turns out I'd used the last of it. So I did the next best thing... I made buffalo hot wing sauce and had giant buffalo wings. YUM.
Cow Kitty continues to enjoy our company and she's certainly entertaining. We've also noticed the bug population - mostly moths at night - have definitely gone down since her arrival. I don't mind that at all. I forgot how icky doing the litter box is though - it's been so many years since I've had to do one. I didn't miss that aspect at all. The clumping litter is much better than what I'd used in the past though. Much easier to get the job done and over with.
Last night we went to bed at 11 and by 12:30 were ready for sleep, but then because Rod has been saying he wanted to start using his CPAP mask again I bugged him and bugged him till he went to do it, and he noticed it was missing a bit and had to search for it. So sleep time ended up being 1am instead. Still, much better than getting into bed at 1am and up for a half hour or longer watching TV. I had 6hrs 15min sleep last night. Better, but needs to be closer to 7 or 8. I woke up feeling refreshed though, and that was pleasant. And I'm somewhat still awake at the moment too. I also did a couple other things to encourage sleep... since I was in a fair bit of pain even an hour after having a Panadol and a Panadeine Forte, I went ahead and took another Panadeine Forte, and I also slathered my back, left leg, knee and foot/ankle with Neurofen Gel. Another change I made was I'd been drinking the daily 'calcium mix' just before bedtime. I was doing this because it upset my stomach and made me feel awful when I was taking it during the day. I'm now taking it just before or after tea. When I can before tea would be good - calcium AND an appetite suppressor. :-) The reason for changing this is because another reason I'd wake up early is to visit the ladies room in the middle of the night. I reckon less causes for me to wake up the better - and Rod using the CPAP machine falls into that too - the less he snores - the less likely I am to wake up from a loud 'schnaughzzzzzz' coming from him in the middle of the night.
Anyway, all this talk of sleep is making me tired. Time for bed! G'night everyone!
