We had lunch with Theo Bee and his wife Jenny. We knew Theo from the AVTech Fidonet echo, but we'd never met in person. They came to Adelaide because they weren't able to get tickets to the André Rieu concert in Sydney (at over $600 a ticket, they were sold out in seconds), so they came for the concert here and have made a holiday of it. We had a great afternoon together and we really enjoyed our visit.
My other plans for the day involved installing Dreamweaver so I can start the tutorials and such on it for my classes. I ran into a bit of a snag in that my disk space ran low, which Rod suggested I just add another virtual drive to my VMWare set up. Oh yea, no worries, great idea. A bit of snag though, ordinarily WinXP sees the new drive and offers options to format it so it can be used. Apparently an update to WinXP means it doesn't do this anymore. We finally got it sorted in the end - there were two ways - one was to copy another virtual drive and tell VMware to use that, or what we did was set up a new virtual drive, exit VMware, edit the config file for it so the new, unformated v. drive was the 1'st one, and then stuck our WinXP cd in so that would boot first. It then offered to do the formatting and once it finished that we just cancelled out, exited VMWare and then edited the config file so the drives were in the right order again. This worked well, but it was a lot to go through just to get a new drive - virtual at that - visible on the Windoze system. By time we sorted that out, all I had time to do was install Dreamweaver and then it was time for bed.
I noticed something rather funny on Cow Kitty. She has a mostly white side, and a mostly black side. On the black side, the pattern at the bottom, nearest her belly, looks like ... cow udders. I will try to get a pic of it, but it's not easy to do since she has to be lying on the correct side... you can't see it when she's walking or sitting. This afternoon I was looking at her and thought to myself (then groaned at the bad pun), "I wish she'd lie on her udder side". (Yeah I know, GROAN!)
What good luck. I went out for a break and Cow Kitty gave me the view that I wanted. Neat! Here goes:
Katzilla_Dances asked if we'd come up with other names for her and so far no, but we had a good laugh at the name 'Mooovit' since she, like most cats, likes to step in front of us and otherwise be 'in the way'. "Udderly ________" was another thought. As in 'udderly irresistable' and 'udderly annoying' etc. Do you have any ideas? I'd love to hear them!
