Holiday in Surfers Paradise 2002
Rod and I had our first holiday together, sort of a 2nd Honeymoon for us, and these are the pictures from it. We went to Surfers Paradise in Queensland, and had an absolutely wonderful time.

View from plane as we left Adelaide |

Our first glimpse of the Gold Coast |

Tweed Head, NSW |

Night time view from our apartment. It was dark when we arrived so we didn't know we had a great ocean view until the next morning. |

Night view of ParkRoyal hotel, taken from our balcony. This is one of my sister's hotels so I had to take a piccie of it for her. :-) |

Our first meal. We ordered BBQ Spareribs from a delivery service. It was cold, but good. We took a bottle of champagne that was given us when I finished chemo, and enjoyed it with our dinner. |

I took this Saturday morning while still in bed - it was great to wake up to an ocean view. |

And this was the view I had when I got out of bed. I was amazed to be able to see the beach! |

MovieWorld entrance. I'm in a purple jumper that was way too warm. First thing I did was buy a T-shirt and change into it! |

Rod in front of the MovieWorld entrance. I'm not as good with the camera as he is! |

One of many of the cool old cars parked in the streets at MovieWorld. This was used in the Bonnie & Clyde skits performed during the day. |

From the Police Academy stunt show. This was a really excellent show. And the heat from the fire felt real too! |

Police Academy stunt show - the helicopter was 'blown up' right in front of us! |

More from the Police Academy show. |

Meeting Tweety. He was quite soft and cuddly! |

Tweety and I got on so well I took off my 'disguise' for him! |

The ScoobyDoo Spooky Coaster was one of the highlights of the day, but the ride itself is 'hidden'. |

Trying on a Harry Potter wizard's cap. |

From the Effects tour, showing how Memphis Belle was filmed. The fellow in glasses was from the audience. |

Shaggy from ScoobyDoo |

Looney Tunes Village - this area was mostly for kids but it was a lot of fun to see favourite characters |

This was a carpeted water play area. Really neat looking. |

Rod with his good friend Taz (Tazmanian Devil). |

A street scene from Harry Potter. The buildings were 'real' and there's a mural at the end of this street making it look like it goes on forever. |

'Rackin Frackin' varmits! I love Yosemite Sam! |
