Dam Day Out 3

15 August 2004. We had another 'Dam Day Out', this time visiting Mt. Bold which was now open, and Clarendon. These photos were taken with a Kodak DX3600. The 'large' photos were reduced in size from the originals.

This is a tree in Reynella near The Strand deli. I like it's wrinkles.

Foot bridge at Mt Bold Dam. Yes to all you Michganders out there, it looks a lot like the Mackinaw Bridge. Just a lot smaller!

No matter where I go, this strange guy is always nearby.

Beautiful flowers aside the dam.

The resevoir side of the dam. This was the fullest we've ever seen this dam.
DCP_3263.jpg
I have no idea what this plant is, but it's pretty amazing looking.
DCP_3267.jpg
The one-way road we came in on.
DCP_3270.jpg
Another neat plant.
DCP_3272.JPG
Taken on the road coming into the Dam area.
DCP_3273.JPG
There were a lot of other people checking out the full Dam. Our car is in front of the blue ute.
DCP_3280.JPG
It appears that they are doubling (at least) the size of the resevoir.
DCP_3283.JPG
Another glimpse of the new resevoir.
DCP_3290.jpg
The Wattle was in full bloom.
DCP_3296.JPG
This is a small bridge we cross when entering or leaving the Dam site. This was the 1st we've seen it with water!
DCP_3301.jpg
Clarendon. This is looking up a rock encrusted hill.
DCP_3304.jpg
Lovely blue flowers under a tree. Signs of spring!
DCP_3309.JPG
The water was flowing at Clarendon.
DCP_3311.jpg
Rod walking along the bank. This reminds me of the farmer photo my Grandfather had for many years. The only thing missing is the sickle over his shoulder.)
DCP_3313.jpg
Huge gum tree. It's shed it's bark.
DCP_3316.JPG
That strange man is in my photo again. If you look at the next 3 photos without seeing this one, you'd think they were of a huge waterfall. But this one shows the truth.
DCP_3318.JPG
A little waterfall.
DCP_3319.JPG
We've seen this area with no water at all in the past.
DCP_3320.JPG
More waterfall.
DCP_3328.jpg
Green growth and blue flowers. Spring is coming.
DCP_3335.jpg
This is a beautiful gorge. Love the reflections.
DCP_3338.jpg

DCP_3347.jpg
More evidence of spring.
DCP_3349.JPG
Great reflections.
DCP_3351.JPG
I thought the F was funny.
DCP_3352.JPG
Signs of life.
DCP_3357.JPG
This is a huge gorge, and the photo just doesn't do the size justice.
DCP_3359.JPG
We were intrigued by the dividing line of green growth and dead trees.
DCP_3364.JPG
Taken on the bridge at Clarendon (photo below). This bridge is right on a curve and quite narrow so I had to be very careful of traffic. This is looking towards the dam.
DCP_3366.JPG
The view from the other side of the bridge. At the far end, you can see the little waterfall shown in the photos above.

DCP_3370.JPG
This photo and the next were taken at Clarendon Hill. It was taken near the end of the day and the ocean is in the distance.
DCP_3379.JPG
I really love the huge gum tree in this photo where it looks like it's replicating itself as it reaches towards the sky. This is a lovely Australiana photo of where I live. Isn't it great?
