Apparently having family and family pics on Facebook brings out the best in me in terms of writing about memories. As I wrote 2 rather long comments / wall posts or whatever they're called this morning, I reckon I should share them here in my blog. If you are reading this on Facebook you may want to skip the rest because you probably already read the same stuff elsewhere. read more »

Lots of News!
Audette is here!
I have a new Granddaughter! My first and ONLY Granddaughter at that! Her name is Audette Irean Gaelyne Andersen (yes she has my name as one of her middle names), and she was born on 15 January 2010 at 10:25am. She weighed 7lbs, 2oz and is the cutest baby girl EVER. Biased? ME? Nah!

Tackling the patio
Yesterday I tackled the patio... but not the whole thing, just the area where we hang out. It's a big patio - almost the length of our house. There's no way I can do the whole thing at once. But a section at a time - yeah I can do that. read more »
Odds and a Few Ends #2
It's another Odds & Ends entry. This time links to articles I found of interest.....
Hey did I mention I bought myself a cordless mouse? Oh man, it is brilliant. It is so nice not to fight with a cord and the scroll button is quiet - no more feeling like Rod can hear me every time I'm scrolling down a web page! read more »
Mr and Mrs Caveman
Meet Mr and Mrs Caveman.

This is Gra and Rog.
Gra is the female of the clan while Rog, with his beard is obviosly the male of the clan. Both are equally in charge and not at all in charge, at the same time. They were once human, but after 4 days of a rare November Adelaide heatwave, they have reverted back to their cavemen habits. read more »
Yes, another blog entry. And yes, I overused the word yes a lot.
If yesterday was a red letter day, today was ... eh. I don't normally have eh days, but maybe I did too much yesterday and it caught up with me.
Of course, the way my day started could have been better. My sleep pattern is that I sleep for 2-4 hours, wake up, have breakfast, take my meds and go back to bed again and the second set of sleep is generally much better than the first. This was the 2nd day in a row where that second set of sleep wasn't all it could have been. Yesterday it was because of a wake up alarm I kept ignoring and today, well, I can blame it on the cat. read more »
Try not to giggle
I ended up being a bit late for the research study appointment, but fortunately I called ahead and then someone else turned up half an hour early so it worked very smoothly for everyone.
The full laser body scan was weird. You stand in this box that's about the size of a phone booth (heh, remember those??) and a scanner goes from the top to the bottom. Sort of like being checked out at the supermarket. read more »
Reconstruction musings
G'day!
Sometimes it's hard to know how to start an entry, and I think saying G'day is a fine start. It puts off on the right foot, don't you think?
I'm happy to report that the cortisone shots in my spine - I had 3 of them altogether - have made a difference. It's not all 100% or anything, but it is much much better. It takes awhile for it to take effect and I've read that you're supposed to 'ease back into things slowly', so I have been. read more »
Hoping this makes a difference
Tomorrow I'm having a couple of cortisone shots in my spine to help deal with the inflammation. I'm hoping that it makes as big of difference to my back, and the sciatica I've been dealing with as it did for the hip bursitis. I'd really like to be able to go on walks again or geez at least use the treadmill. read more »
Howdy
Howdy Y'all. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I've been struggling with the arthritis and bursitis stuff and doing my best to keep up with other stuff. Not much to report on the physical complaints aside from having my wicker rocking chair repaired was one of the best things I've done for myself - this chair really is the most comfortable for me, and when you combine it with a nice warm gel-pack for my back, it's absolutely wonderful. So I spend a lot of time on the patio using my laptop instead of inside at my main computer because my rocker doesn't fit my desk. read more »
